Raita

Raita is a traditional South Asian side dish and is very helpful in digesting high calorie food. Raita is prepared in variety of ways by using different vegetables including cucumber, cabbage etc. Veggies combined with some spices like cumin and chilies makes it healthy side meal with full of nutrition and taste. This type of raita can be made whenever you are doing vegetarian cooking, BBQ cooking etc. It is served with lots of spicy food items specially with biryani and some fried rice.

Ingredients:
1 cup yogurt
1 clove garlic
1 tspn salt
1/4 cup coriander leaves
1/4 cup mint leaves
3-4 green chilies
1/2 tspn cumin powder

Procedure:
1. In a blender, make a green paste of coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilies and garlic.
2. In a bowl, beat yogurt using egg beater to make smooth paste.
3. Now add green paste, cumin powder and salt in the yogurt and mix well.

Serving:
Green raita is ready to serve with any spicy food like biryani and kebab.

Note:
You can make its consistency thin if you want to drink it separately for as a digesting aid.
