Poori is one of a mouth watering recipe of Indian and Pakistani cuisine where it is specially prepared for weekend or holiday breakfast. It is usually served with traditional potato curry and chickpea curry.

Ingredients:

3 cup plain flour
1 tbspn melted butter (ghee)
Salt to taste
2 tbspn yogurt
Water as required
Oil for deep frying

Procedure:

1. Mix flour, salt and butter in a bowl so that little crumbs of flour are formed.
2. Add yogurt in the flour and mix.
3. Knead the flour using water to make dough, make sure the dough is quite hard as compare to normal dough (if you press finger on it would not easily go inside to make hole otherwise your bread will not rise).
4. Make small balls of around 2-3 cm size and make it bigger (approx. 3 times the size of ball) by rolling with wooden bread roller, make sure that bread should not be very thin.
5. In deep pan heat oil for deep frying on very high flame, put the rolled bread into it and stir it. Take out from the oil after turning it little brown. Just as shown in the given video.
Servings:

You can enjoy hot fried bread with Beef kebab or chicken curry.
