This Slow Cooker Apple Butter Recipe is the most convenient method for preparing homemade apple butter. Since slow cooker cooking makes, you relaxed for cooking some typical recipes because if you prepare this recipe in an ordinary saucepan, you need to stir it continuously to avoid sticking the butter.

Ingredients:

6.5 lb apples (peeled, cored, and sliced)
6 oz granulated sugar or to taste
6 oz light brown sugar (lightly packed)
1 tbsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp freshly grated nutmeg
¼ tsp ground cloves
¼ tsp salt
1 tbsp pure vanilla extract

Procedure:

1. Place all the ingredients into the slow cooker pan except vanilla and mix them well.
2. Set slow cooker settings to low and timer to 10 hours, stirring in between so that the mixture cooks evenly and gets an even consistency.
3. After 10 hrs. when the mixture turns into brown color, stir in vanilla and cook it further for 2 hrs. uncovered.
4. Using a hand mixer, blend the mixture to form a smooth paste and transfer the prepared apple butter to sterilized containers or jars, cover, and keep it in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks. If you want to use it for a long time then keep it in the freezer.
