Cantonese ChickenPreparation time : 30 mins. | Serves 2-4 persons

This Cantonese Chicken is taken from Chinese cuisine. It may be resembles with the Kung Pao chicken but its taste entirely different and delicious. It is basically a fried chicken which is served with typical sauce and veggies like spring onion, bell peppers, etc. But in this recipe it is only served with its sauce and toasted sesame seeds which also tastes good.

Ingredients:

1 lb boneless chicken breast (cut into small cubes)
Salt to taste
½ tsp ground white pepper
½ tsp sugar
½ tsp chinese salt
½ tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp soya sauce
1 tbsp chili garlic sauce

For Batter:

1 egg
4 tbsp flour
4 tbsp corn flour
Water as required

Oil for deep frying

For Sauce:

1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 tbsp oil
½ tsp chinese salt
½ tbsp chili powder
½ tsp ground white pepper
1 tbsp soya sauce
1 tbsp chili garlic sauce
½ tsp sugar
Salt to taste
¼ cup chicken stock
Toasted sesame seeds for topping

Procedure:

1. Marinate chicken with salt, sugar, chinese salt, white pepper powder, chilli powder and soya sauce and leave for 15 mins.
2. Prepare medium consistency of batter by mixing beaten egg, flour, corn flour and water.
3. Heat oil for deep frying, dip marinated chicken pieces in batter and fry them in the preheated oil for 3-4 mins. until become golden brown.
4. To prepare sauce, saute ginger garlic paste in oil add remaining ingredients and let them boil and cook for 3-5 mins. over medium heat.
5. Pour the prepared sauce over the fried chicken pieces and sprinkle some toasted sesame seeds.
