This Brookies Recipe is a rich combination of brownies and cookies, hence it is called Brookies. The recipe is simple; you just make layers of both batters and then bake. These delicious brookies can be made richer in taste by adding nuts and caramel sauce to the batter.


For Brownie Batter:

¼ cup oil
¼ cup cream
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1¾ cup sugar
¼ cup cocoa powder
¼ tsp baking soda
½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
½ cup hot water

For Cookies Batter:

¾ cup butter
2 cups dark brown sugar
¼ cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cup flour
1½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
½ cup chocolate chips


1. To prepare brownie batter, combine all ingredients of brownies except hot water and mix them well. Then slowly add the hot water to make a smooth batter. Brownie batter is ready.
2. Now to prepare cookies batter, melt butter in a sauce pan over low heat.
3. Add the brown and white sugar and continue cooking until smooth and glossy. Keep stirring in between.
4. Now remove the pan from heat and allow it to cool for 5 mins. Then add eggs and vanilla and whisk until smooth.
5. Gradually add dry ingredients including flour, baking powder, and salt, and make the batter uniform. Then in the end stir in the chocolate chips.
6. Now take a square or rectangular cake pan, grease and dust it with flour, at first spread the layer of brownie batter, then pour the cookie batter on top. Spread it nicely so that it covers the brownie batter completely.
7. Bake it in preheated oven at 350 degrees F for about 40 mins. or until done.
8. When baked properly, cool it to room temperature and then cut it into bars before serving.
