Sardine SandwichPreparation time : 20 mins. | Serves 4 sandwiches

This Sardine Sandwich is a quick and easy sandwich recipe you just need to prepare chickpea spread and then assemble it with sardine and bread. You may also use hummus in place of chickpea spread but in that case, you need to add only basil flavor to the hummus.

Ingredients:

2 can sardines (packed in water or tomato sauce)
4 buns
4 lettuce leaves

For Chickpea Spread:

2 cloves garlic (crushed)
1 cup chickpea (cooked) or use 1 can of drained chickpea
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp crushed red pepper
1 cup basil leaves
Salt to taste

Procedure:

1. To prepare chickpea spread, process together garlic chickpea, olive oil, lemon juice, red pepper, basil leaves and salt and make smooth blend.
2. Split the buns, on the bottom side of bun spread the prepared chickpea spread, place some pieces of sandrine on it, put a lettuce leaf and then cover with top piece of bun. Similarly prepare rest of the sandwiches.
3. You may bring lots of variations in this sandwich, by replacing buns with white bread and use tomato flavor sardine.
