Date Cake Recipe

Preparation time : 30 mins | Serves 6 persons
Fruit cakes are best for tea time snack. This recipe of Date cake is very energetic and healthy snack specially for those kids who don’t like to eat dates. This cake is more like date slice.


Ingredients:
2 eggs
2 cup plain flour
½ cup sugar
Pinch of salt
1 tspn baking powder
1 tbspn butter
1 cup crushed dates

Preparation:
1. Beat eggs using egg beater just to mix egg yolk and white together for 2 mins.
2. Add sugar and mix in the eggs, add salt, butter and dates and mix again.
3. Mix baking powder in the flour and gradually add flour to knead the dough.
4. In the already greased baking pan spread the dough in the base and put in oven at 325 degrees F for 20-25 mins.

Servings:
Serve the delicious date cake with tea.

    What degree should it be baked on? Also, dough seems very dry. What could be done to remedy that dryness?

    This date cake is baked at 325 degrees F and as far as dough is concerned it is ok! because it is bit harder than other cakes. You may add orange or mango juice after baking or add 1/2 cup of milk in the dough, then the cake will be softer.
