Vegetable and chicken samosa

Preparation time 1hr. | Serves 10 persons

This vegetable samose recipe originated from Asian cuisine. In snacks, samosas are mostly prepared in India and Pakistan and it is also a very healthy snack for kids. Samosas are cooked and wrapped in variety of ways for example with potatoes, minced meat, vegetables, chicken,cheese etc.

Ingredients:

For Dough:

2 cups plain flour
½ cup ghee or melted butter
1 tspn salt
Water as required

For Filling:

½ cup cabbage (chopped)
½ cup carrot (chopped)
½ cup capsicum (chopped)
½ cup spring onion (chopped)
1 tspn white pepper
1 tspn black pepper
1 tspn salt
½ tspn Chinese salt
1 tspn chili sauce
1 tspn soya sauce
1 tspn Worcestershire sauce
3 tbspn oil

For Chicken Marination:

250 gms boneless chicken
2 tbpsn soya sauce
2 tbspn white vinegar
1 tspn white pepper
Pinch of salt

Procedure:

Samosa Dough Preparation:

1. In a bowl, mix salt and butter in the flour well so that crumbs are formed and feel very soft when rub on hands, the color of flour becomes off white.
2. Slowly add water to knead the dough, make sure the dough should be little harder than normal dough.

For Stuffing:

3. Marinate chicken in the above mentioned ingredients for 15mins.
4. Pour some drops of oil on the non-stick pan and put the marinated chicken pieces on it. Switch on the stove and keep heat low and let it cook under cover for 10-15mins.
5. When all the water of chicken has been dried. Make small pieces of chicken.

7. Mix chicken pieces in the vegetable filling.

Making Samosa:

8. Now take a very small piece of dough, roll it with the wooden roller till it becomes very thin and cut into two parts.
9. Put 1-2 tbspn of filling on both pieces and wrap just like the shape of samosa (in triangular shape).
10. Now deep fry the samosas and take out on turning golden in color.

Servings:

Tasty vegetable and chicken samose are ready to serve on tea time with ketchup.
