This recipe for vanilla fudge is prepared with sour cream hence has some combination of sweet, sour and typical fudge flavor. The fudge has not only single vanilla flavor it also has some mixing of chopped walnuts which when combines with other ingredients gives delicious flavor.


2 cup granulated sugar
½ cup dairy sour cream
1/3 cup light corn syrup
2 tbsp butter
¼ tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts


1. In a heavy sauce pan combine sugar, sour cream, corn syrup, butter and salt and cook at medium heat until sugar dissolves completely in the mixture.
2. Cook for further 10 min until temperature reaches to 236 degrees F and then remove pan from heat.
3. Cool the batter at room temperature then add vanilla extract and beat until batter gets thick and loose its gloss.
4. Then stir the walnuts in batter and then pour into the greased pan. Chill the fudge for at least an hour until it gets firm and easily cut into squares.
