This Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes recipe is one of the very famous dishes of French Cuisine. It is prepared with white sauce and cheese flavor, thus resulting in a creamy Gratin. It is different from that Vegetable Gratin as its taste is more towards creamy and cheesy flavor.


4 russet potatoes (cut into thick slices)
1 onion (sliced)
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups white sauce
1½ cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 stalk spring onion green (chopped)


1. Combine potato and onion slices in a mixing bowl and toss them with salt and pepper.
2. Now take a casserole dish, spread this onion potato mixture at the base of the dish, sprinkle half of the cheese, then pour whole white sauce over the top to cover all the ingredients, and in the end spread the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
3. Place the pan in preheated oven at 350 degrees F for about 20-30 mins. or until becomes golden brown from the top and the potatoes get tender.
4. Serve the hot Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes with the topping of some spring onion greens.
